The Role

Provide planned statutory inspections to Bolton at Home’s principal offices, Community buildings, UCANs, Extra Care Units, Under One Roof Schemes, Victoria Square, Domestic Dwellings and premises where BH provide block management services.

Principal Accountabilities

To undertake regular statutory inspections, record findings and report any issues
This post is transferable to work across all Bolton at Home properties.

Key Tasks

Carry out statutory health & safety checks to all Bolton at Home Offices, Community Buildings, UCANs, Extra Care Units, Under One Roof Schemes, Victoria Square, Domestic Dwellings and premises where BH provide block management services. To include:
• Weekly Fire Alarm Testing
• Weekly Fire Door checks
• Weekly purging of Little Used Outlets – water hygiene
• Weekly Lift REM Testing (where applicable)
• Weekly Defib Visual Inspection (where applicable)
• Weekly Emergency Pull Cord Test
• Weekly Fire Blanket Test
• Weekly Refuge Test (where applicable)
• Monthly Emergency Light Inspections
• Monthly First Aid Inspection
• Monthly Fire Extinguisher Inspection
• Monthly Evac Chair Inspections

To undertake weekly and monthly inspections of properties to provide a safe environment for both staff, clients and tenants.
Working to a schedule in order to ensure statutory inspections are carried out satisfactorily at the same time each week.
100% compliance in completing statutory inspections.
Completing inspection sheets, maintain accurate records and central excel records to provide consistent approach and visibility to confirm the inspection has taken place.
Reporting issues and faults through the appropriate channels, to ensure that faults are reported and dealt with effectively and efficiently.
Carry out visual inspections on service provider statutory reports to ensure that these have taken place and match the contracted specification and remedial works are instructed.

• Full clean driving licence and use of a vehicle is essential
• Experience in similar role
• Understanding the needs of older and vulnerable people

The Role
To provide a caretaking and cleaning service as well as carrying out minor DIY jobs for customers living on Bolton at Home’s sheltered schemes and Extra Care units. Each scheme has an allocation of handyperson hours for the residents to use as they choose on minor repairs and improvements to support residents live independently in their own homes. Priority is given to the cleaning and caretaking duties.

Principal Accountabilities
To ensure that scheme / unit is cleaned and maintained to an exceptional standard and providing cover when needed.

Key Tasks

• Daily, weekly and monthly clearing and cleaning of communal areas incl. kitchens, toilets, gardens
• Putting out communal bins / keep bin area clean
• Maintaining flower beds/shrubbery or pathways low level gardening
• Litter picking on scheme / report fly tipping
• Report any concerns regarding residents’ health or wellbeing / advise customers of how to access Bolton at Home services
• Liaising with residents to agree how their allocated hours per week will be spent
• Support Bolton at Home activities on site e.g. setting rooms up
• Minor repairs to communal areas e.g. changing light bulbs
• Personal minor DIY/repairs for residents e.g. building flat-pack furniture, putting up shelves, unblocking sinks, removing carpets, tightening screws, minor plastering etc.
• Recording completion of tasks on relevant paperwork

• A current driving licence, use of car for work and willingness to travel throughout Bolton and surrounding area.
• Experience in a similar role
• Understanding the needs of older and vulnerable people

About Motiv8

Motiv8 supports people aged over 25 across Greater Manchester who need support to get their lives back on track – whether they are experiencing issues with health, alcohol, drugs, domestic violence, debt, homelessness or other challenges. The programme supports those who are under-represented in the labour market.

The Role

We are looking to recruit one key worker with the skills and experience of working with complex individuals to support the delivery of the programme across Greater Manchester.

You will need to be passionate about helping others, be able to work in an innovative and creative style and want to improve the lives and opportunities of the people we are supporting. This will also include managing a caseload and working from locations throughout Greater Manchester.

You will be employed to work solely on the Motiv8 project. The post is funded through the Building Better Opportunities programme by the European Social Fund and Community Fund

Reporting to: Team Manager

Key Work Objectives:

1. To carry out your role and live the Starts with you values in a way that leads to increasing levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.

2. Manage and monitor a caseload of participants mobilising action plans and agreed outcomes to meet deadlines and targets in line with the programme and ESF guidance.

3. To provide a flexible and holistic support service to participants and maintain regular contact with them to continually assess their support needs ensuring positive engagement with statutory and non-statutory services.

4. To develop relationships with key partners and stakeholders to secure successful outcomes.

5. To develop and deliver one to one and group interventions across the Motiv8 project to maximise opportunities to participants.

6. Ensure accurate case files are maintained for the participant journey and auditing purposes in a timely manner in accordance with ESF regulations.

7. To be a pro-active member of the team; continually seeking to improve and develop your own skills and the performance of the team. Seek to improve processes, keeping value for money as a focus. Operate within and comply with our policies, procedures and values at all times.
